Consumers do not consume full power generated by various power stations. A fraction of that is consumed by the power station subsidiary units A part of it is also lost in the transmission of electricity. We get the remaining electricity in our homes, offices and factories. There are many types of challenges facing India's electricity sector today -
(1) India's current power generation capacity percent per annum is not sufficient for economic 9 Percent/Per year economic growth. India's commercial energy supply needs to grow at a rate of 7 percent.
(2) The role of Private Sector in the field of electricity Is very less. The situation is the same for foreign investment.
(3) The loss of the State Electricity Board, which distributes electricity, is more than 500 billion. This is due to loss of communication and distribution, unreasonable electricity prices and inefficiency.
